The female passenger in the vehicle later died from injuries sustained in the wreck. The driver of the vehicle lost control in the 6000 block of Bonlee Bennett Rd and struck a telephone pole in the front yard of a residence. Despite the Investigator’s blue lights and siren being activated, the vehicle failed to pull over. The investigator then began to catch up to the vehicle to attempt a traffic stop. The vehicle was observed passing another car in a no passing zone and travelling over twice the legal speed limit. When the Investigator pulled into the parking lot, the car left the parking lot at a high rate of speed. The Investigator observed two occupants in a silver Honda Accord who appeared to be engaged in activity consistent with using narcotics. On January 5, an Investigator with the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office was in the Bonlee area when he observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a gas station. Highway Patrol after fleeing in a car to elude deputies and later crashing the car, leading to the death of a passenger, Amber French, 31, of Randleman. An Asheboro man is facing charges from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office and the N.C.
